Less Injuries…..

More Victories…

Aquatics can be used to supplement a comprehensive sports performance program

All aspects of a training program can be enhanced with an aquatic component

Water is the great equalizer, the harder you push, the harder it pushes back. The three-dimensional resistance of water provides a more functional training environment compared to land based training.

Water is a great screening tool, by significantly reducing gravity and momentum faulty movement patterns become much more evident. Recent research has shown that training in the water allows for improved strength, flexibility, power, agility, speed, endurance as compared to land based training without the added muscle soreness.

Want to reduce the size of your injury report? Get your injured athletes moving earlier and more functionally in any phase of rehab or conditioning.

Any sport can benefit in any phase of rehabilitation/conditioning. Whether you have a static pool or a dynamic pool such as a SwimEx/Hydroworx, etc. we can show you how to maximize the use of your aquatic training program.

MY CLIENTS THE MONTREAL CANADIENS HAVE HAD GREAT SUCCESS INTEGRATING AQUATICS INTO THEIR REHAB AND TRAINING PROGRAMS.

It was truly enlightening to have Rick come into our facility and give us an aquatic training using our pool and equipment. His experience and expertise in aquatic rehabilitation made the session most valuable to us. It allow us to push our players in their therapy progressions as we strive for quicker recovery/return to play.
— Graham Rynbend, Head Athletic Trainer, Montreal Canadiens

THESE TECHNIQUES HAVE BEEN INSTRUMENTAL IN ASSISTING CLIENTS OF ALL LEVELS FORM REHABILITATION TO THE HIGHEST LEVELS OF SPORTS. DURING THE COURSE YOU WILL LEARN THE POWER OF AN OUT OF THE BOX IN THE POOL HOLISTIC/ FUNCTIONAL APPROACH TO AQUATICS

AQUATIC SPORTS PERFORMANCE TRAINING CAN BE EITHER VIRTUAL OR LIVE

Are you a Physical Therapist, Athletic Trainer, Strength Coach or Performance Specialist?

Are you looking to:

Reduce the size of your injury report?

Get your injured athletes moving earlier and more functionally in any phase of rehab or conditioning?

Cross train your athletes in season more functionally?

Break out of a training rut?

Get more education rather than taking the same type of sports performance courses being offered only with different names and slight modifications?

An out of the box in the pool solution to help maximize your athletes performance?

WHETHER YOU HAVE A STATIC POOL OR A DYNAMIC POOL SUCH AS A SWIMEX/HYDROWORX, ETC. I CAN SHOW YOU HOW TO MAXIMIZE THE USE OF YOUR AQUATIC TRAINING PROGRAM.

For Improved Performance, Just Add Water

 YOU WILL LEARN:

  • HOW TO INCORPORATE THE WATERS PROPERTIES AND UNDERSTAND HOW TO MANIPULATE THEM TO SCREEN MOVEMENTS AND MAXIMIZE ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE.

  • HOW TO UTILIZE THE AQUATIC ENVIRONMENT FOR INFLUENCING DYSFUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT PATTERNS,FLEXIBILITY, STRENGTH, STABILITY, POWER, SPEED, AGILITY, PROPRIOCEPTION, COORDINATION CARDIOVASCULAR ENDURANCE , FUNCTION AND MUSCLE SORENESS.

  • UNDERSTAND AQUATIC THERAPY/EVIDENCED BASED TRAINING PHILOSOPHY AND PRINCIPLES AS THEY APPLY TO REHABILITATION, ATHLETIC AND PERFORMANCE CONDITIONS.

  • DESIGN INTEGRATED, COMPREHENSIVE AND PROGRESSIVE PROGRAMS FOR ORTHOPEDIC/SPORTS POPULATIONS UTILIZING A VARIETY OF AQUATIC TECHNIQUES AND EQUIPMENT.

  • UNDERSTAND HOW TO EFFECTIVELY UTILIZE AN AQUATIC MEDIUM OR SPORTS PERFORMANCE TRAINING AND RECOVERY.

  • INCORPORATE EXERCISE PROGRESSIONS TO KEEP TRAINING SESSIONS DYNAMIC, CHALLENGING AND FUNCTIONAL FOR ALL LEVELS.

How Will It Help Your Clients?

Traditional uses for aquatics in sports performance programs tend to have primarily focused on the unloading properties that the water provides such as when the athlete cannot tolerate the full gravitational influences of land-based training such as during rehabilitation. I find the water to be a powerful medium that can be used in any phase of an athlete’s training-from rehabilitation to the highest levels of sports performance.

I have been incorporating water into my athletes’ training programs for a number of years and have also had the opportunity to work with professional sports teams throughout the country to share my passion for aquatic sports performance training.

Now more than ever before, there is research in the strength and conditioning journals validating the benefits of aquatic training for sports performance training.

The Water is a Buoyant, 3- Dimensional, Holistic, Non-Momentum Environment That is the Opposite of the Weighted, One-Dimensional, Momentum-Prone Environment Found on Land.

Trainers quickly realize that by just performing land based exercises in the water the pool program quickly falls short. The goals can be the same as land based training but the principles are entirely different.

By using the water effectively trainers and therapists can balance muscle groups faster, improve strength, correct dysfunctional movement patterns, improve power with less soreness to name a few.

Let me show you how to maximize the use of your pool for your athletes.

 How It Works

You’ll be provided with my evidenced based designed in PDF format containing over 100 functional exercises and 200 color photos to show exercises.

How will we meet?

We’ll meet for 3-4 hours via Zoom Meeting.  Along with Email support in between our meetings if needed.

After that time I would then like you to practice the techniques in the pool that we go over. (After all we are Kinesthetic learners). Usually 2 or sometimes even 4 weeks.

We will then follow up with another 1-2 hour meeting to review any areas you want to focus on.

What you will need…

Internet Connection, Web Cam and Microphone

We’ll be using Zoom Meeting
